Resort & Casino

BACKGROUND & MY ROLE
In 2012, Steelman Partners helped renovate several interior spaces of the Venetian Resort and Casino. As a graphic artist on this project, I was responsible for creating a concept rooted in Italian culture that would enhance the food court area. The canopy design was inspired by the combination of world famous ceiling murals and images from Europe’s much-loved outdoor dining scene. Sources were pulled from actual books as imagery on the internet was still somewhat limited when this project commenced.
Once designed and digitally created, the final concept was then re-interpreted by a mural artist and painted over the food court by hand. Gazing upward, patrons can enjoy the 24/7-daylit sky that older Vegas casino ceilings are known for – but enhanced here with traditional wooden framework and floral arrangements characteristic of the countryside.
